Randy Johnson is a Dallas native who attended Texas A&M as a member of the Corps of Cadets. Building on his collage training in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, Randy has expanded through self-study into the botany of native plants on the Texas Blackland Prairie. Randy was a private gardener for three years before his current position of Director of Horticulture at the Texas Discovery Gardens. Randy is a sought-after teacher at Texas Discovery Garden. For example, in November 2009, he led the annual tour of native trees in the garden and taught proper tree planting and care techniques. Starting in January, Randy has organized at the Texas Discovery Garden a series of monthly classes to be taught by industry experts that will cover a wide range of gardening subjects.
